Hi everyone. I want to start by thanking everyone for all the prayers, vibes and good wishes you sent my way over the past few days. It was a bit tiring over the past few days when I was at the Vet getting my fluids by IV and I’m glad I didn’t have to do that again today. First thing this morning my Vet called to see how I was doing. Mom and Dad told her that they thought I was feeling better, but my eating still wasn’t what they would like it to be.
You see I like to keep them guessing as to what will satisfy my taste buds from one meal to the next. I get a lot of dog biscuits since that is one thing I seem to enjoy although not until late in the day and only in the bedroom 🙂 . For example this morning Dad tried to feed me some chicken and I wasn’t interested, but by dinner time when Mom hand fed me some I was all for it.
Tonight I had to go back to the Vet so she could see how I was and talk to Mom and Dad about how to keep me feeling as well as they can. I was not very happy with being there again and to show my displeasure I pooped in the waiting room 😀 . Dad was mortified and Mom just laughed.
The Vet gave Mom and Dad some medication to give me every day to make my tummy feel better and maybe I will want to eat more regularly. She also gave them some more bags of fluid to put under my skin a couple of times a day. I don’t really mind those treatments since Dad always lays down next to me and snuggles with me while Mom does the needle work. She really does a pretty good job and it has only hurt a couple of times. It only takes a few minutes for each treatment and we will be doing it twice a day probably for the rest of my life.
So that is all the news I have for now. In summary I will be getting subcutaneous fluids every day along with my anti-nausea medication. I will also be trying my best to keep the parents guessing as to what I will eat and when I will eat it. Mom and I want to thank everyone that has left messages and emailed us to lend their support and check up on me. If you could keep me on your Power of the Paw prayer list I would appreciate it.
Thanks for all the love Blogville. You all are the best!
my love keeps going to you forever and ever

Glad to hear you are doing MUCH better, Nina. You seem to have Mom and Dad trained quite well and I am sure they will give you whatever you want to eat whenever you want it! Have you suggested prime rib or New York Strip? Just a suggestion. Your cousin, Cheese

I am glad you are home and getting better. I sounds like you have not lost your sense of humor, just keep them guessing (as long as you do eat something). You are still in me and MOM’s prayers for sure. Keep getting better.

Nina, we are so happy to hear that you are home and that you are holding your own – nothing wrong with that. Now could you please just do some better eating – that would really make your Mom and Dad happy. Our Mom so understands the frustration of trying to get a dog to eat – Phantom is quite the challenge. And just when you think you found something that works, boom, nope, I don’t want that any more.
All paws crossed for you,Nina.

Howdy Nina,
We hope by this morning you’re doing much better! You gotta get some food in your belly girlfriend. You have to keep your strength up you know. Your Mom and Dad are trying really hard to get you better, so humor them and eat a real good breakfast today. We think it’s awesome that Mom can administer your fluids for you. I just bet that Dad is loving all the snuggling time with you too.
Good job on the floor pooping! You sure showed them what you thought about being at the Dr’s office again.
We’re hoping to hear a good update in the very near future!!
Paws stil crossed for you sweetie!
Hugs,
Lily Belle & Muffin
yu know what Nina? you and I have pretty much the same treatment! I have a tube sticking out of my tummy and a machine pumps fluid in every night … the fluid pulls the bad stuff out of my blood and then the machine sucks the fluid back out again! It sure makes me feel better too! … not sure my mum will be letting me eat biscuits in my bedroom though, you lucky thing! … keep feeling better, and I thought that was funny you pooping on the vet’s floor 😉
Nina you look very queenly sitting there on the rug….your furs are shiny and you are alert. Big hugs and may I suggest you acquire a tasted for a big
fat juicy t-bone? Just sayin’ your BFFF

Oh Nina – I’m sorry I haven’t been visiting for a while but we’ve been thinking of you. I’m glad to hear that you’re holding your own – don’t torture your humans too much with your choosy taste buds! 🙂 Really hope your medicines help you feel better and that you’ll be eating more again soon.,
