Hi everyone! It’s Millie here. Remember the fancy “Rescue” bandannas our mom made for us and we said it was for a special event? Well now I’m going to tell you about it. A couple of weekends ago Boom Towne Canine Campus, a local training facility, put on an event called Fido Fest. Our rescue group Big Dogs Big Hearts had a booth there and we wanted to go say hi to our friends.
Darcy is my foster mom (who I love very much) and I let Walter have some special love from her. She is a great snuggler!
We also got to meet some of the adoptable dogs in our rescue group. We are not sure what the name of the shepherd mix playing with me above is, but she sure was nice.
This cute dachshund was visiting there also. Sorry we forgot her name, but she was very friendly and had two other siblings with her.
One of the volunteers with our rescue, Melissa, was handing out cheese so we got in line for some. Walter wouldn’t leave her alone until she was all out of cheese. What a mooch!
This is one of the Big Dog Big Hearts adoptable dogs named Jordyn (you have to scroll down the page a bit to find her). She is real sweet and food motivated and kept sticking her nose in my mom’s treat bag. Oh yeah…she is also deaf. When she first came to the rescue she was a bit nervous but since being with her foster family (the same ones I was with) she has really come a long way. Maybe someone out there would like to adopt her?
It was a bit warm that day so I made sure to find some shade to rest in. Now this Fido Fest was nothing like the Wag Fest Frankie and Ernie got to go to, but I prefer the smaller crowds that this event had. It also meant I got to spend more time with my favorite foster mom.
This coming weekend our rescue group will have our reunion picnic at this same place and Walter and I can’t wait to go!
