Hi everyone! Today we are joining Dory for Flower Friday.
Let’s start with some wide views of the yard. Then we will zoom in an get some close up views of the flowers.
Here is a quick video panning around the yard from the patio. A lot has changed since the last video like this I posted a month ago.
If you can’t see the video you can go here to view it.
Now let’s take a closer look. (Don’t forget you can always click on an image to see a bigger view)
In this corner of the yard we have a nice variety of green and red foliage. On the right are some viburnum blooming and in the middle is our Miss Kim Lilac.
It’s too bad someone hasn’t invented smell-o-vision yet because the scent from the lilacs is divine.
Most of the plants in the perennial garden survived our harsh winter. Charlie has moved a few things around and added a couple of plants too.
This Amsonia is one of the new additions in the perennial garden. I love the delicate blue flowers.
The North East corner of the yard shows off the variety of foliage colors in our yard. Let’s move in a little close to see what is in bloom.
I’ve shown you pictures of some of these flowers so lets zoom in on some we haven’t see yet this year.
One of the new additions in this area are a couple of Yellow Knock Out Roses.
The roses start out the dark yellow and then fade to a pale yellow as seen above on the left. The weigela flowers are similar in that they start out as a darker pink and then fade to almost white with pink centers.
To finish today’s tour around the yard we have a Japanese Maple surrounded by two different viburnum.
Well I hope you enjoyed this walk around our garden today.
OH FRIENDS BETWEEN YOUR HUMMINGBIRDS AND GORGEOUS FLOWERS…I DON’T THINK WE’D EVER GO INSIDE DURING THIS TIME OF YEAR.
HUGS MADI YOUR BFFF AND MOM
You have a wonderful garden… I wish we had just a little green thumb :o) Your Amsonia is an artpiece, blue flowers are the eyecatcher between the green and the red :o)
Wow! That is more than a garden; it’s a park! I agree, I would be outside all the time; I’d pitch a tent and hope for fireflies. Really a wonderful garden. Thanks for sharing. Lady Caroline
Thanks Lady Caroline. It is sort of a small private park. We do get fireflies showing up in a few weeks. I love looking out the windows and watching them move around the yard.
I love the Japanese Maple tree. Your garden is so beautiful Cindy. I can never get over how big it is.

We have to echo what Madi and her Mom said – so beautiful and inviting. We don’t know how you keep it up so well. Just gorgeous.

Honestly, Cindy, I don’t know how you guys keep it so beautiful!! LOVE it!! I know you said Charlie has a great green thumb…and that is a huge plus!! Between the house, the cottage, and the RV, I barely have time to even go outside!! Thank you for the lovely tour!! I bet the dogs love it out there!!
The knock out rose! Amazing! I guess I have never really seen them before. You know, now that I think of it, I don’t think any of my roses have bloomed yet. Have a great weekend. Sam
Your gardens are just fabulous! We never see a blade of grass out of place or any weeds. Your yard is just beautiful!
We are Stunned by the Beauty and Variety of colors and shapes. We loved the tour…. butt could never remember all the names like you do.
Wow, you have such a lovely garden.
Your garden is absolutely gorgeous. You have a very green thumb! Thanks so much for sharing.
Pretty flowers!
You have such a big, lovely yard! One day, when my mom and dad finally move in together (in about two years! So far away!) mom says she hopes to have a yard as pretty as yours!
It has been too long since I visited your blog, and I’m sorry about that! I’ve missed so much!! Your beautiful, stunning yard shows your hard work, and is truly a bit of heaven and a perfect place to relax and enjoy after a long day, or even to soak in, at the start of it!
Very pretty. We love all the texture and color. And so tidy!
Wyatt
Oh I can smell those lilacs from here! Your yard is gorgeous!
What a lovely garden. We don’t have a yard so I enjoy looking at other people’s flowers!
Why just the way you have the green foliage plants arranged is eye catching. We love the chartreuse with the deeper darker greens and the blue spruce.
Thanks for being a friend

I heard you are having a BIRTHDAY today. Hope it is filled with love, laughter, and lotsa snuggles.
Love Noodles and Molly
Your yard is amazing!
We’re sooooo in awe of your beautiful yard! (Ours is probably full of weeds.)
Happy Birthday Cindy!!
Your yard is so beautiful compared to mine but we try. We live under a giant oak that is over seventy years old so we have to plant what lives in the shade.
Thanks for being a friend

Wow! I really need to go clean my beds out again. All of my day lilies are blooming. You yard is gorgeous!
Gorgeous!
Gorgeous garden! Just came across your post while searching for some colorful shrub plant8ng ideas. You have a wonderful mix. What is the beautiful red shrub in the far left of your Northeast corner pic?
The shrub you are asking about is a Japanese Maple tree. I’m not sure exactly what species it is but it is a weeping red dissectum cut-leaf Japanese Maple. It is similar to the Crimson Queen http://japanesemaplelovers.com/crimson-queen-japanese-maple/
Thank you! Love Japanese maples, but haven’t seen this one. I see you’re in the same zone as me (upstateNY), so I may be stealing your planting plan! 🙂 Thanks so much for the speedy answer!
