Hi everyone! It’s Millie and Walter here! It’s time for our second Chewy.com review for the month. While we were outside yesterday we started our review of a Nylabone DuraChew Double Action Chew Bacon Flavor Dog Toy.

Check out that big bone!
Mom says it tastes like bacon.

Here’s a closer look at the Nylabone.

This is the “Souper” size

Chewy.com has these bones available in three sizes: Regular for dogs up to 25 lbs., “Wolf” for dogs up to 35 lbs. and “Souper” for dogs over 50 lbs. According to the information about the bone Nylabone also makes one in a “Large” size for dogs up to 50 lbs. The “Large” probably would have been the perfect size for us but our mom was afraid the “Wolf” size might be too small. We both consistently weigh about 50 lbs. so she chose the “Souper” size for us to review.

According to Chewy.com:

“The Nylabone Double Action Chew Bone Dog Toy gives you and your pup the best of both worlds, satisfying his need to chew and your need to keep bad breath at bay. The ends of the toy have a tempting bacon flavor, and the soft middle has a fresh minty scent for bad breath control. Double Action Chews have tiny bristle-like projections that control tartar, massages his gums, and keep his chompers clean.”

Some of the key benefits of these treats are:

  • Dental nubs help clean teeth, massage gums and reduce tartar while your pet chews and gnaws away.
  • Minty center freshens doggy breath making kisses much more enjoyable and a bacon flavored outside make this an irresistible toy for any pet.
  • Durable construction for lasting use so you can help keep your pet entertained and encourage safe, healthy chewing habits that save shoes and furniture from destructive chewing.
  • The unique design makes this toy easy for your pup to carry around since they can grip the center effortlessly.
  • Vet-recommended so you can feel confident about giving this toy to your furry family member.

Walter was more interested in the bone than Millie was so he did most of this review.

That’s quite a mouthful. I can taste the minty fresh center.

You can let go now mom

It was a little distracting to try the new bone outside. There were more things to sniff and check out since we hadn’t had a nice enough day to play outside for a couple of weeks so Walter picked up the review inside a bit later.

This is some good teeth scraping action

Check out the video to see how Walter enjoyed chewing the bone.

If you can’t see the video you can go here to view it.

Just taking a little break. Don’t get any ideas Millie.

As you can see Walter really enjoyed chewing on the Nylabone. It’s a bit big and somewhat heavy to carry around but we’re sure there will be plenty of time chewing on it in the future. Millie also had a chance to try the Nylabone but no cameras were around to witness it. We both give the Nylabone DuraChew Double Action Chew Bacon Flavor Dog Toy 8 paws up (because that is all the paws we have) and we recommend it to all our friends.

Hi everyone! It’s Millie and Walter here! It’s time for our Chewy.com review. We finally had a sunny day for the first time in about two weeks so we made our mom take us outside to do the review.

What’s in the box this month?

Here’s a look at what was in the box.

True Chews Chicken & Blueberry Grain-Free Bakes Dog Treats

It’s a bag of True Chews Chicken & Blueberry Grain-Free Bakes Dog Treats. There are other flavors of treats available too.

According to Chewy.com:

“They’re made with U.S.-sourced chicken as the very first ingredient, plus fresh blueberries and real, wholesome vegetables like potatoes and peas for a high-protein jerky treat that satisfies and nourishes in every bite. Since they contain zero corn, wheat, soy or anything artificial, you can truly feel good about treating your pal every day.”

Some of the key benefits of these treats are:

  • 100% U.S.-sourced chicken raised without antibiotics, hormones or steroids is the very first ingredient.
  • Baked with fresh blueberries as well as real potatoes and peas for a savory taste and texture your pooch is sure to love.
  • The grain-free recipe makes this an ideal treat for the dog with allergies or food sensitivities.
  • Soft, chewy morsels make a perfect snack any time as well as an ideal training treat when broken into smaller pieces.
  • Made in the USA with absolutely no corn, soy, wheat, animal by-products or artificial flavors or preservatives.

Let’s see what we thought about these treats.

Those treats look good

I hope mom doesn’t break them into smaller pieces

As usual the waiting is the hardest part

Before we show you the video we wanted to show you this still shot of us waiting to take our treats. Make note of where the treats are. We pointed them out in this picture so you could tell them from the leaves on the ground.

Check out the video to see how we liked these treats.

If you can’t see the video you can go here to view it.

Just like last time Walter didn’t take the treat right away. He is claiming that it was because he couldn’t tell where it was because it looked like one of the leaves.

We both loved True Chews Chicken & Blueberry Dog Treats and give them 8 paws up (because that is all the paws we have) and we recommend them to all our friends.

Hi everyone it’s Cindy here. Today I’m joining the Hookin on Hump Day blog hop to tell you about a new afghan I made.

Grenoble Matelasse Afghan

This is a project that I’ve worked on, off and on, for the past couple of years and I decided at the beginning of the summer that it was time to finish it. The design is from a collection from Priscilla’s Crochet. She can be found on her website or on Ravelry. This afghan is from her Matelassè collection and is the same collection that I used for the baby blanket I made last year.

The afghan is made up of octagon and square motifs.

The pattern is called Grenoble and consists of octagon motifs that are joined together using a flat braid join. In between the octagons the spaces are filled in with square motifs.

This afghan has a nice texture

I wanted this afghan to be big enough to cover Charlie so I finished it using 9 x 6 octagon motifs. The final size is about 72″ x 50″. I used Caron Simply Soft in Dark Sage and it took 14 skeins to complete it at this size.

Even the back is attractive.

One of the things I like about this pattern is that the back looks nice too. The textured style uses a lot of front post and back post stitches which creates a very dense fabric. It makes an afghan that is very warm and cozy to lay under.

Close up of the back of the afghan

The pattern is well done and easy to follow but I found reading the words to remind me what to do for each round became tedious. To make it easier I made a chart of the pattern for the octagon. It was much easier to figure out where I left off if I put the project down for a little while after I created the chart.

The edge is finished with a very simple stitch pattern

After all the octagons and squares were put together the edge is finished with a simple stitch pattern that mimics the style of the flat braid join used to put all the blocks together. I’m happy with the way the afghan turned out and like all the Matelasse patterns I’ve done so far. I wish you could see the color in real life because the pictures don’t really do it justice.

Hi everyone! It’s Millie here. First Walter wants me to thank everyone for his birthday wishes. Okay now that that is over I can tell you what I’m thankful for.

I’m thankful for my forever family

That’s right! Today is my 6th Gotcha Day! I don’t think I could really say just how happy I am to be with my pawrents and Walter. I was a little scared that first day I was here but I haven’t felt that way ever since. My pawrents would tell you that I am quite the mischief maker and have been from day one.

If you can’t see the video you can go here to view it.

That is one of my pawrents favorite video of me. I just couldn’t figure out why that dog wouldn’t play with me.

I love unmaking the bed

I’ve unmade the beds in our house so many times and wrecked so many sheets now that my pawrents block off the second bedroom and don’t let me upstairs by myself. When we are up on the bed we are usually close together.

You can often find Walter and I snuggling on the bed

One of my favorite things to do is hang out in our yard but when I can’t be out there I like to watch the activity from my favorite window.

This windowsill comes in handy when you get tired.

There is nothing better than laying under my favorite tree

As you can tell I feel that I live a charmed life and am so grateful for my forever home. Unfortunately the rescue Walter and I came from is no longer in business but I am so glad they were around to help me get here.

My best guy sent me this lovely card

I have to give a shout out to my boyfriend Fenris and his family for sending me this lovely card. Today we are joining Brian’s Thankful Thursday blog hop. You should stop by his blog to see what others are thankful for.

Hi everyone! It’s Walter here. Today is a big day for me. I turn 6 and my mom told me that means I’m officially a senior citizen.

So I have a little grey on my muzzle. Does that make me a senior citizen?

I had a little grey on my chin when I was a little pup too.

I sure am a lucky pup to have landed in my great home.

I have the best back yard to hang out in

I have the best sister to play with.

There is nothing better than wrestling in the snow

Sometimes we take a break and just hang out together

My pawrents spend lots of money on toys just for me.

I love to steal the used milk cartons out of the recycling bin

My favorite is the freeze dried liver container

I get some real toys too but I’m not a picky guy and I’m happy with whatever I can chew on or play with.

I love when my dad plays fetch with me

I love to snuggle with my pawrents

The first few months of my life weren’t very good but since I found my forever home life couldn’t be any better. I also have a great girlfriend (and her family) that sent me this beautiful card.

Thanks Tuiren and family

I sure don’t feel like a senior citizen and can still jump straight up from a stand still to look my mom in the eyes. Like they say you are as young as you feel.
