Hi everyone! It’s Cindy here. Today I’m thankful that I have a new camera too. It’s the same kind that Charlie recently purchased, a FujiFilm X-T3. I also picked up the XF 100-400mm lens. (Remember you can click on any of the images to see a bigger version.)
A few years ago I switched from a Nikon to an Olympus camera that allowed me to take videos of the dogs. What the Olympus didn’t have was a great ability to do bird photography and I realized that I missed taking pictures of our feathered friends.
I’ve been inspired by Maggie & Cammie’s mom’s beautiful bird pictures and just knew I wanted to do it again.
To be honest the old Nikon was very heavy, especially with the long lens needed to do bird photography. The new FujiFilm camera and lens is much lighter and with all the advancements made over the past decade you get a better image too.
There is also an advantage to using a long lens when photographing the dogs. Most of the time you are so far away they hardly know you are taking their picture.
I’m thankful for my new camera and hope to bring you many great pictures and videos.

Your photos are just amazing. We know the camera helps, but you have some fantastic photography skills too. Mom just realized she never responded to your email – so sorry, she has been distracted. We can’t wait to see more of your work.

Wow! Your photos are exquisite! We still use the camera that’s part of our Android phone. (Ghostwriter is such a technophobe!)

As an ex-Nikonite, I too was converted to “Fudgedome”, though my dear old thing is starting to show its age. I fear even cameras and lens are starting to succumb to consumerism and inbuilt obsolescence. For my current trip Down Under, I just couldn’t manage the ‘Fudge’, so branched off into pocketable shooters and bought the Canon SX620HS. It is a bit of an adjustment (I keep wanting to look through a vewfinder!) – not unlike adjusting from stick shift to automatic vehicles! It lacks strong zoom (thought does have 25x) and super-macro. However, am getting some pretty decent shots.
I love these pawtraits of Da Dawgs… but as a birder, am also very thrilled and a wee tad ‘jelly’ at your feathered images!!! YAM xx
Pawsome photos!
it seems you found the right cam what can catch the best moments… we love the photos a lot… the treats photo of mIllie is darling, isn’t it?
love all your photos. Millie looks like a sweet lady while he looks llike a handsome strong dude.
Your pictures are incredible, Miss Cindy – every single one of them!
We love the pictures you took with the new camera The cats are drooling over the bird pictures and Fenris is very happy to see his Millie looking so purrty and Tuiren is swooning over Walter
Wow, that camera (and you) really does take amazing pictures. It does make a huge difference. Congrats on finding the right camera for you. 🙂
I agree with the WOW, your photos are simply stunning, bravo! Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Yay! I’ve been wondering about the mft fujifilm cameras. I bought a Lumix, and I hate it. Its autofocus isn’t fast enough for dogs and the image quality is “meh”. I am looking forward to seeing your images. I LOVE the orioles. I lived in Baltimore when I was very young, and I remember them. We have almost nothing so bright here. And your dogs, of course, melt my heart.
Great shots! Although we dogs are a bit dubious about having photos taken from a distance when there are not treats involved. BOL!
Woo-hoo! I’m sure you’ll have fun with the new camera! If your new pics are any indication, we are in for a treat!
Very nice pictures!!!! We look forward to seeing more of your photography!
hugs
Mabel
Great pics! #1 also has a new camera, a TG5 “tough” camera from Olympus that they sent her when they could not repair her broken down SH2!
Wow…wonderful shots of the pups and the birds!!!
The bird photos are amazing!
Oh, those are FABulous!!! I can’t waits to see more! how are the action shots with that one? Ma had a Fuji years ago, and wasn’t too impressed, butts it wasn’t a nice one like that one ~ maybe she’ll have to rethink….
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
Whoa…what spectacular photos! Nice camera, nice job!
Yay you and Charlie can have dueling cameras. I love your photos of the pups and the birds!!
Hugs Cecilia
I’m still not getting notice of your new post but at least I can comment.
I signed up again …we’ll see if it works

Charlee: “Those are great shots with your new camera!”
Chaplin: “I’m concerned about these long lenses. Shooting from far away seems like a way to avoid having to pay treats for services rendered.”
Lulu: “I don’t need to be paid in treats. I accept belly rubs as payment for any sort of service.”
Chaplin: “Weirdo.”
Very nice! Sure beats the phone pictures that we take!!
Wow! Impressive photos(and photographer)!!! The bird pictures are simply stunning, and I LOVE the close up looking straight into Millie’s eyes 🙂
I seriously need to get a good camera again. I’ve gone through 4 in Behr’s 11.7 year life (and wasted tons of $ on cameras that SHOULD have been good). Have been stuck with only using my phone for a while now, out of frustration. Your post makes me want to try to find one again. Haven’t ever tried Fuji
