Hi everyone! It’s Cindy here. Late last week we were lucky to have some Painted Lady butterflies migrating through our yard. They enjoyed a stop over for some refueling. We first found them enjoying the sedum.
Here is a little video of the action on the sedum.
If you can’t see the video you can go here to view it.
The next day when we came outside there were many more Painted Ladies and this time most of them were on the Blue Fortune Agastache.

This would make a good Tongue Out Tuesday picture

Here a video of the action on the agastache.

I hope you enjoyed seeing the Painted Lady invasion we had in our yard recently.
We are joining the LLB Gang for their Nature Friday Blog Hop. You should pop over to their blog to see all the other posts.
The painted ladies are just beautiful!
I never thought of butterflies as migratory. I wonder whether ours do!
We love your butterfly pictures. We wonder if maybe they will wind up here on their migrations. We like to think the Hummingbird Mom held was one you saw earlier.
Amazing shots. What a uplifting post.
I’m not surprised they found your beautiful yard! All that yard work has paid off! Good job supporting the wildlife.
Gorgeous! The underside may not be as colourful, but in the first photo it looks like a stained-glass window. We have native plants in our garden to attract the birds–we don’t get many butterflies, and certainly not colourful ones.
We normally get painted ladies here too (and we have lots of sedum) but we haven’t seen many this year. Yours are just beautiful!
Your ‘Ladies’ are quite lovely. Ours have been flitting around so quickly I haven’t been able to check them out very closely. Thanks for sharing yours!
Quadruple WOW!!! The photos look so real I expected to feel gently butterfly

Charlee: “So that’s where our painted ladies went!”
Chaplin: “See, I knew we should have kept chasing them instead of turning around and coming home!”
Ours have just disappeared after being here since June. I love them – but none of ours looked quite as perfect as yours! Your photos are fabulous – so clean and sharp! Enjoy those ladies…. you have the perfect garden for them.
HOLY BUTTE PILLARS! SO beautifuls!!!! Your photos are just so amazin’! Your camera is really showing off your photography skills my furiend!
Kisses,
Ruby ♥
What gorgeous pictures!! What a wonderful year it’s been here(and looks like your coast too!) for all things fluttery!
They are beautiful. We had a lot of Butterflies early in the Spring but now none. Guess they did all migrate to your yard.
