Wordy Wednesday – Millie’s Vet Visit

Hi everyone! It’s Millie here. For the past couple of weeks I’ve had to endure twice daily squirts of medicine in my right ear. It seems that all that rolling in the snow caused me to get a yeast and bacteria mess in that ear. On Monday I had a follow up appointment with the vet.

At first I tried to escape but I don’t know how to work those doors.

Eventually I resigned myself to having to wait for the vet to see me and settled down.

First the tech came in and stuck huge q-tips in my ears. Then she took my vital signs and asked my mom how I was doing. Unfortunately I was still shaking my head because of an itchy ear.

The good news is that according to the vet I still have some icky stuff in my ear but it is much less than two weeks ago. The bad news is I have to continue with the ear drops for another week.

This is what I have to say about another week of drops.

I’m also banned from playing in the yard if there is snow so I don’t re-infect my ear. Here’s hoping you all have healthy, non-itchy ears.

Nature Friday – Snow Love on Valentine’s Day

Hi everyone! It’s Millie & Walter here. There hasn’t been much nature to talk about around here other than the snow that Mother Nature keeps sending our way.

I like sniffing under the snow.

If I’m thirsty I come up with a mouth full of snow.

I like sniffing under the snow too and do it while I walk along.

Don’t I look sweet all covered in sugar? I hope Fenris thinks so.

My best guy, Fenris, sent me this sweet card for Valentine’s Day.

Of course I will be your Valentine Fenris.

Here is my snow kissed picture for my sweetie Tuiren.

Tuiren sent me a sweet Valentine card too.

I will be yours forever Tuiren.

We just love playing in the snow and trying to see what is buried under it. Happy Valentine’s Day to all of you! We love all our friends and fans.

A Very Ear-y Situation

Hi everyone! It’s Millie here. Recently my pawrents noticed something different about my ears. First let’s back up and see what I looked like way back when I first came to my forever home.

Notice how both of my ears are half up and half floppy.

Within a few months my right ear was starting to stand all the way up.

By the spring of 2013 my right ear was all the way up but my left ear stayed floppy.

Through out the years this is the way my ears looked.

Sometimes when my head was tipped back my left ear stood up on its own.

It looks like my left ear is up a little more here than in the past.

Within the past year my left ear has been less floppy.

Only the tip of my left ear is floppy here.

Here I am just a few months ago and my left ear is almost all the way up.

Look at me now! My left ear is mostly up.

We don’t know why it’s happened but most of the time my left ear has been standing more upright. It still goes floppy sometimes and I like to keep my pawrents guessing as to when it’s up and when it’s down. I hope you enjoyed seeing the evolution of my ear.

Nature Friday – Snow Play

Hi everyone! It’s Millie & Walter here. We know some of you don’t really like the snow but for us there’s no place we would rather be.

I like looking for buried treasure.
