Hi I’m Cindy. I enjoy quilting, crafting, sewing, crochet, photography, bird watching, and spending time relaxing with my husband, Charlie and our dogs, Millie and Walter. This blog is about my life and what I like to do. I hope you will find something useful from my posts.

Good for you!
Your yard is always so interesting in each season.
Thanks so much for the Quilting Day swap parcel which arrived yesterday – your work is beautiful and I will be checking out your blog to see some of your lovely things – especially the machine embroidery which I also love. Best wishes Pauline

Hi, my name is Christina Olson and I am a student at MSU Denver. In my Ornithology class, we are working with the Audubon Society to make an interpretative book to help people recognize birds in that area. The pictures I would like to use is from your black-capped chickadee page. the images I would like to use is the black-capped chickadee sitting on charlies hand. I will give Cornell credit for the image. Please let me know so I can use it, my school email is colson41@msudenver.edu
Thank you,
Christina Olson
Hello! My name is Amie and I am from Niagara Falls. We adopted a dog from our local humane society in 2013 and like you with Millie, we never knew the exact breed. I’ve been trying to find images that resemble her appearance forever with no luck until I stumbled upon an image of Millie. Our Ali looks like she could be Millie’s sister! We really can’t believe our eyes when looking at pictures of Millie, it’s like we’re looking at pictures of Ali in so many of them. I thought since I was so intrigued that you might be too! Please email me if you would like to see some pictures. If you live anywhere close to Niagara Falls they might even be related!
That’s funny, I came here to post a similar comment. I adopted my dog, Pepper (although she is from Texas) about ten months ago and have been curious about what breed(s) she is. I stumbled across this blog and have never seen a dog that looks more like Pepper than Millie does! It’s uncanny, and I wish I could share a picture on here. Many people have suggested to me that she could be part blue heeler, but whatever she is, she is a sweetheart 🙂
Hi, Cindy! I’m wondering what breeds your two fur babies happen to be. We have a boy that looks almost identical to your little ear-flopper and we haven’t ever seen another like him. We just assumed he’s some sort of shepherd-heeler mix, but the resemblance here is uncanny.
Thanks!
Jennifer
Hi Jennifer. We did DNA tests on both of our dogs. Walter, the tan one, is mostly boxer which is just what we thought he was. You can read about it here https://birdbrainsanddogtales.wordpress.com/2014/05/29/the-big-reveal/ . Walter’s report is about half way down the page. I would love to see a picture of your boy. Do you have a blog too?
What breed is your black dog ?
You can read all about it in this blog post https://birdbrainsanddogtales.wordpress.com/2014/05/29/the-big-reveal/
I got your Christmas card. It appeared out of the blue. I have one thing to sqay

I love your butterfly post of the eastern tiger swallowtail! I just saw one on my butterfly bush out here in the San Francisco Bay Area and I’m wondering what they call it out here. I will send you a picture thank you so much for your site!
