Hi everyone! Do you remember, back around the end of the year holidays, when I asked everyone to save your stamps and send them to me? I waited a while to make sure everyone that was planning on sending me their stamps had enough time to do so and was overwhelmed by the response.

Wow! Just look at everything I received. In addition to the stamps there were numerous cards and notes. There even were a couple of dollars and some unused US stamps from a Canadian friend. After I sorted through all the stamps I took the time to remove all the stamps on all the envelopes too.

Unique stamps from the United States
Most of the stamps were the usual holiday or general use United States stamps but as I was sorting through the stamps I pulled out a few of the unique ones.

Australian Stamps
Thanks to The Cowspotdogs, whose mom is from Australia, there were a lot of stamps from down under.

Interesting International Stamps
There were even a few interesting stamps from around the globe. I had fun perusing all the different stamps that you sent and couldn’t believe how many stamps there were.

In all the stamps weighed in at 12¼ ounces (about 346 grams).

Of course I couldn’t ship off the stamps before making Millie and Walter pose with them. Don’t they look thrilled?

Do you need me to lick any of these stamps mom?
I stuffed all the stamps into a gallon zip bag.

All these stamps are going to help greyhounds in the UK?
The stamps were shipped using US First Class International postage which still allows for tracking. I included a note to let the RGT know where all the stamps came from. Here is what I said:
Dear Retired Greyhound Trust,
Enclosed please find stamps collected by me and about 30 blogging friends and family. Most of these stamps were collected during the December 2014 holiday season. A large group of pet bloggers participate in a holiday card exchange. In the past one of our members had asked us to save our stamps and send them to her so she could send them to your organization. That particular blogger doesn’t blog any longer so I decided to pick up where she left off.
The majority of those participating write a pet related blog so they were more than happy to help a pet related cause such as yours. I promoted the cause on my blog and some of the other participants promoted it on their blog as well. I plan on encouraging my fellow bloggers to save their stamps year round. We know it is a small gesture but we all know that every little bit helps.
As you can see from my note there were about 30 different participants in the stamp collection.
The package was mailed on May 2nd and I was surprised to see that it was delivered in just 5 days!

Thank You Letter from Retired Greyhound Trust
Just this weekend I received a thank you note so I know they received them. I’m sure they appreciated receiving all our stamps. Thanks to everyone who participated. I think that some of our UK and European bloggers sent their stamps directly to the RGT so thanks to all of you too.

I want to let you know that you can save your stamps all year round. I already have my collection started to send next year. If you don’t want to wait you can feel free to send me your stamps any time of the year. I created a permanent page on my blog with all the information you need to participate.
Thanks again to all of you for making this so successful.
