Hi everyone! It’s Millie & Walter here. Christmas was a few weeks ago but we waited until after New Year’s Day to see if we had any late arriving cards before we did our final tally.

These are all the cards we received.

The last card to arrive was from our uncle Paul who lives in Connecticut which is about 350 miles away. It took 4 weeks for it to make it to our house!

Check the postmark! This was mailed on December 11th and arrived on January 7th.

The card enclosed in this late arriving envelope was so appropriate for this year. You can see it on the far right ribbon. It’s a dark gray color and on the cover it just says “WTF”! BOL! Our uncle has a great sense of humor.

We haven’t been very happy with the postal service in this country lately. Our mom mailed a package to her mom on December 14th and it finally arrived yesterday over 4 weeks since it was mailed. She mailed another package to the same town on the same day and it arrived 2 weeks ago!

Here’s what I have to say about our postal service lately. A great big raspberry!

We’re very thankful to all our friends and family that sent us cards, both snail mail and email.

Hey Millie, aren’t all our cards pretty?
I love seeing so many cards on our wall.

As usual we crushed our parents in the card count again this year.

The final card count is:

Millie & Walter

19 Snail Mail cards

14 e-cards

Total Card Count – 33

Mom & Dad

13 cards

Thanks for helping us beat our parents again this year.

We want to finish this post with a picture of just our cards so everyone that sent us one can try to find theirs (we even printed out all the email cards). Just click on the image to biggify it so you can see your card.

Look at all those beautiful cards.

We also want to thank our readers and friends that sent cards to The Ladiez of Beaglebratz Manor and their mom. All reports are that you helped to make their Christmas a little happier.

Hi everyone! It’s Millie & Walter here. Today we are thankful for all our friends from near and far who send us cards each year.

Thanks for all our cards!

That picture was taken a few days ago so here is a picture of our cards as of today.

Christmas Card collection as of Christmas Eve

We printed out all our e-cards too so they could hang with our paper cards. This year as usual we beat our pawrents in the card count.

The current card count is:

Millie & Walter

13 Snail Mail cards

14 e-cards

Total Card Count – 27

Mom & Dad

12 cards

Two of our pawrents cards came from pet stores and one even had coupons inside. The coupons are probably okay since they will no doubt be used to buy us treats and toys. There might even be more cards coming since our postal service has been pretty slow this year and if so we will do an update.

If you weren’t part of the card exchange and didn’t receive a card from us here is our holiday card to all our readers.

Hi everyone! It’s Millie & Walter here. We heard that today is Christmas Card day. Now we like to wait until closer to Christmas to share ours with all of you but we do want to show you our display.

I don’t have to look at the camera if there aren’t treats!

Millie was the first to show up when Mom wanted to take some pictures but she always does her best to avoid looking at the camera.

I always pose nice for mom.

Don’t worry if you have sent your card and don’t see it yet. We took these pictures a couple of days ago and have received more since.

Are we almost done posing?
I don’t know but I hope we get a cookie for all this effort.

We can’t wait to see those ribbons behind us fill up with all kinds of cards from our friends all over the world. We would also love to see our friends help make a long time Blogville member who hasn’t been able to blog for a while get lots of cards too.

Do you remember Maizie & Shasta?

The Ladiez of Beaglebratz Manor haven’t been able to blog for a while since their mom’s eyesight has not been well enough to manage it. A couple of years ago Kim and her pups moved in with her sister to make life easier.

Maizie, Mom Kim and Shasta

In addition to her failing eyesight Mom Kim was diagnosed with cancer in late August. When our mom was preparing her Christmas card list this year she contacted Kim’s sister, who always posts for her on Facebook, to ask what her address was so we could send them a card. Her sister also said she would love it if we would share her address so we could help make Kim and her girl’s Christmas just a little brighter. If you would like to send them a card here is the address:

Kim Brooks, Shasta & Maizie
1738 SW Stone Crest Dr.
Topeka, KS 66615

If you would prefer to send an email card you can send it to us and we will deliver it to Kim’s sister. Just leave a comment letting us know you have an e-card to deliver and make sure your email address is included in your profile. Our mom will contact you via email to request your e-card for Kim and the girls and then send it along to them.

Let’s all help make Christmas shine for these great friends of Blogville.

Hi everyone! It’s Millie & Walter here. We are calling mischief on our secretary, otherwise known as our mom. She didn’t do any posts about our Christmas cards we received all during the holiday season so today we are posting some pictures of the final collection of cards we received.

Wow! This sure is a lot of cards we got.

Wow! This sure is a lot of cards we got.

Glad you could join me Millie. I wanted to make sure our friends knew how thankful we were for all their cards.

Glad you could join me Millie.
I wanted to make sure our friends knew how thankful we were for all their cards.

We want to thank everyone for all the cards we received this year. We just love seeing all your pictures and pretty cards you send. We especially liked the card that Phenny’s (Angel Easy’s) pawrents sent. You had to fully open it to see the whole scene on it so we put it on one of the shelves so you can see both sides. It’s near the top right of the cards.

This picture was taken a few days before we received even more cards. So here is our final picture of just the cards and the white board where our mom keeps count.

Final card count and display - Christmas 2016

We think the reason our mom didn’t do any posts was because of how pathetic their card count was. Here let’s take a closer look at the white board.

Final card count white board - Christmas 2016

As you can see we really kicked butt on our pawrents. Our dad tried to sneak a few more cards from businesses in but we wouldn’t let him.

Did you notice that cute little elf sitting next to our cards?

elf-toy-lr

Our mom got that from her best customer along with some very delicious cookies. His little “Nice” sign can flip around to show “Naughty” too. We were glad he thought we were nice. One of the cookies even looked just like the elf.

Almost too cute to eat.

Almost too cute to eat.

Thanks again to everyone that sent us a card both by email and snail mail. We cherish each just the same.

We also want to thank our friends that have started sending us their stamps. That was another thing our mom didn’t do any posts about but we sent a reminder with the cards we sent out. This time we will make sure we tell you all about it. If you didn’t save your stamps from your Christmas cards it is never too late to start. Just save any stamps you get and send them to us whenever you would like. We accept them all year round.

Save Those Stamps IconHi everyone it’s Millie & Walter here! Do you remember last year when we asked everyone to save your stamps and send them to us? Well, we are doing it again this year. We have already received a few cards from our Blogville friends so we’re sure some of you have too.

Did you know that the stamps that come with all those cards can help the Retired Greyhound Trust across the pond? Yes they can! So we are asking you to Save Those Stamps! and send them to us.

This is the pile of stamps we ended up with last year from about 30 friends.

Millie Walter - with stamp pile

We will be collecting stamps to send to the Retired Greyhound Trust (RGT) in the UK. Every kilogram (about 2.2 lbs.) of used stamps collected can be sold in aid of the RGT. Their target is £1,500 ($2345 USD) which is the cost of kenneling a dog for a year.

If you are on Oreo’s mailing list then you should already have our home address. If not then just leave us a comment asking for the mailing address and we will email it to you. Save up all your stamps and after the holidays just put them in an envelope and send them to us (make sure you have enough postage in case it weighs more than one ounce).

If it is easier for you to send your stamps directly to RGT their address is:

Retired Greyhound Trust
2nd Floor
Park House
1-4 Park Terrace
Worcester Park
SURREY
KT4 7JZ
UNITED KINGDOM

Lets shower those retired greyhounds with a ton of stamps…well okay a ton would be a bit too expensive to send but wouldn’t it be great if we had 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds) to send them? Please feel free to grab the Save Those Stamps! icon above and promote it on your blog by linking back to this post or our permanent Save Those Stamps page.

Thanks, in advance, to all of you for making this so successful.

Hi everyone it’s Walter here. We are well into 2015 but I wanted to let you know how our final Christmas Card count for 2014 turned out.

Official Christmas Card Picture for 2014

Official Christmas Card Picture for 2014

We sure ended the year with lots of cards. You all did a great job in filling up our wall. Thanks for everyone that sent us one either through snail mail or by e-card. We printed all of those out too. So here are the final totals:

Millie & Walter

42 Snail Mail cards

22 e-cards

Total Card Count – 64

Mom & Dad

14 8

Final card count board

Mom keeps a white board with the current tally on it. The parents got a few more legitimate cards since my last report but dad tried to slip a couple of totally bogus ones in. Let me show you what I mean.

Exhibit A - New Year's Card from Driveway Sealer?

Exhibit A – New Year’s Card from Driveway Sealer?

Seriously?! First it is a New Year’s card which isn’t really a bad thing (we know some of our Blogville friends did send us New Year cards), but this one is from the guys that seal our driveway. Like we said before, cards from businesses don’t count. This last one was a real stretch.

What The Heck?!!!

Exhibit B – What The Heck?!!!

Dad tried to doctor this junk mail from American Express into a Holi-Day card. What the Heck?!!! Come on dad you really are taking this a bit too far. Millie and I just shook our heads and walked away and then made sure this so called card ended up where it belonged…in the trash!

Thanks to everyone for sending us your stamps. We have heard from a few of you that some are still on their way. If you need our mailing address just ask in the comments.

Mom wanted to let everyone know that if you want to save stamps all year you can send them to us whenever you feel you have a big pile and don’t want them around any more. That is how we got the picture of the stamps below. Those were all the stamps we collected during the past year after we sent our Christmas stamps in. We are going to make a new tab at the top of this page with all the information soon.

Thanks again to everyone that sent us a Christmas card this year and for all those stamps.

Hi everyone it’s Walter here! I wanted to give you an update on the Christmas Card count so far this year.

Walter models with the Christmas Cards

Walter models with the Christmas Cards

As you can see we are doing pretty good with all the cards we have received from all our friends. So far here are the totals:

Millie & Walter

29 Snail Mail cards

20 e-cards

Total Card Count – 49

Mom & Dad

10 6

Card Count Board

Here is the white board that mom keeps the card count on. Notice those question marks? Well those are there to indicate some very questionable cards. Let me explain. First let me show you exhibit A

Exhibit A - Card from Dell computers

Now I will show exhibit B.

Cornell Jewelers Christmas Card

Exhibit B – Cornell’s Jewelers Christmas Card

I don’t care how pretty a card is if it contains coupons to be used for your next purchase it does not count in the Christmas Card tally. Our pawrents have actually received a few legitimate cards from friends and family and a few of our furiends addressed the card to both Millie & I and our pawrents so we agreed to split those cards (hence the 1/2 cards in the counts). Our dad also tried to count an e-card he got from the auto repair shop but we said that was no good.

Can you pick out your card?

Can you pick out your card?

The bottom line is as usual we are kicking butt on our pawrents. We just love all the cards we have received either in the mail or by email and thank all our furiends for sending them to us. We love how pretty all the cards are and enjoy seeing all our furiends on them too.

Don’t forget to Save Those Stamps!

Hi everyone it’s Millie & Walter here. As usual we are decked out in our official Christmas Card scarves for the photo shoot.

Our Wall is Full!

Our Wall is Full!

Millie & Walter

70 Snail Mail cards

16 e-cards

Total Card Count – 86

Mom & Dad

We ran out of room on our ribbons and had to tape some of the cards to the stone wall. Can you believe our pawrents actually got into the double digits? Their last card was from our Auntie Colleen and her family and she even put a note on the back of the envelope saying she hoped it pushed mom and dad up in the tally. As if they could ever catch us!

Saving our Stamps for Miss Lori

Saving our Stamps for Miss Lori

One of the cool things we did this year was save our stamps for Miss Lori of the What Remains Now blog. She explains in this post how the stamps are used to raise money for a Greyhound rescue in the UK so we ordered our mom to save all our stamps from all our cards. It was easy peasy! She just ripped them off the envelopes and saved them in a little zipper bag. We sent them off to Miss Lori a couple of days before Christmas and have already started saving a new set to send to her at another time. You just have to be sure the envelope doesn’t weigh more than one ounce to go in a regular envelope with just one stamp.

Just Another View of All Our Cards!

Just Another View of All Our Cards!

Some of our mom’s friends tried hard to bump up their card count and one of her friends even sent two cards! One to her and one to us so it just evened out. We just love getting all these cards and will be saving them to look at later in the year. Thank you to everyone that sent us a card and especially to the few of you that sent more than one!
