Hi everyone! It’s Millie here. Do you know what day it is? The title of this post should give you a little hint.

It’s a great day to be me!
(March 2020)

Today I turn 8 years old but to me it’s 8 years young because I still often feel like a puppy. I didn’t get to my forever home until I was about 4 months old and I don’t remember much of the early months of my life. Things sure were good when I landed in a foster home but it was even better when I found my mom and dad. Let’s take a walk down memory lane.

I’m cute huh?

Did I mention I love the snow?
(March 2017)

I enjoy watching out the windows, even with Walter.

Don’t I look great against these yellow leaves?

Laying next to my dad is one of my favorite things to do.

I love my life!

Thanks for joining me on this trip down memory lane. It’s been a great first 8 years. I hope I have as much fun for the next 8!

Hi everyone! It’s Walter here. Last week we had a great stretch of nice weather and we made sure to get out and enjoy it. Mom was there to catch some of the fun we were having.

I don’t know why this fly wanted to go for a ride on my head.

There is more mischief going on around here too. As you all know I had a lump removed from my mouth a couple of weeks ago. I’m all healed and feeling great now. We got the report from the pathologist this weekend and it isn’t all bad news but it isn’t great news either.

Mom says my portrait might change a little in about a month.

The good news is that the lump isn’t any type of aggressive or metastasizing cancer. What I do have is an Ameloblastic fibroma. These typically are locally invasive and often regrow in the same area. Because of that I’m being referred to an Animal Dental Specialist. The closest one to us is about an hour and a half drive away near Syracuse, NY.

According to my mom I already have an appointment for November 12th where it is expected that I will see the doctor in the morning and then have surgery that same day. The good news is that I only have to make one trip to that doctor. They will probably remove the two teeth that were closest to the lump and a small part of palate next to those teeth. I will be able to go home later that day. It’s going to be a long day for my mom who will have to hang out somewhere to wait until I’m ready to go home.

The bottom line is that I still need your crossed paws and pawrayers so keep the POTP coming.

I’m blowing raspberries at the pathology report.

Millie wanted to get in on the mischief today and has an opinion on my upcoming surgery as you can see above. I’m sure she is just glad it isn’t her.

Hi everyone! It’s Millie here. The weather so far this winter has been miserably cold especially in the mornings when it has been in the single digits (degrees F). When it’s that cold neither of us can stay outside for more than a couple of minutes without trying to levitate and not walk in the snow. There is one way to make that better.

I really don’t like these booties.

In order to give us enough time to do our business we get fleece booties put on our feet. I think most of you would agree wearing booties is no fun. Here is a little video of how much I hate wearing these things.

If you can’t see the video you can go here to view it.

The funny thing is that once I get outside in the snow it’s like I don’t have any booties on and can walk and run around normally. Why is that?

BTW I have such tiny feet that my mom custom made my booties to fit me. We were so happy that the temps this afternoon were in the 20’s and we got to have some play time in the snow. We have about a foot of it on the ground right now. That was lots of fun.

Hi Everybody it’s Millie here!

As you heard we had a ton of snow this past week. I love to bury my head in the snow and sniff around under there.

Since I’m a black dog in a snow storm no editing was needed for these pictures.

Today we would also like to remember one of the hosts of the Black & White Sunday blog hop. The sweet Sugar the Golden Retriever who took her journey to the Rainbow Bridge this week. She was loved by all who met her and will be sadly missed.

I’m participating in the Black & White Sunday blog hop.

Hi everyone! It’s Millie here.

millie-tongue-out-in-the-leaves-lr

This was just a few days ago when I was outside helping dad get the last of the leaves out of our yard. Today it looks like a winter wonderland. We got about 8 inches of snow the past couple of days and boy did I have fun doing zoomies in the white fluffy stuff! The temps are going to be above freezing for the next few days so all the white stuff should melt soon.

I’m sorry we haven’t been around to comment much the past few days. Our grandma had a minor operation (of course nothing is minor when you are in your 80’s) so our mom has been busy helping her and being with her at the hospital the past few days. Don’t worry too much because our grandma is home now and doing well but since she can’t drive for a few weeks our mom will be her taxi and personal shopper for a while.

I heard that we aren’t having a big bird for Thanksgiving but we are having a pork roast with all the usual trimmings so there will be plenty of left overs for us too.

Hi everyone! It’s Millie here.

I’m hanging out under what my dad likes to call…

The Best Seat in the Yard

The Best Seat in the Yard

Our beautiful Katsura tree is looking the best it ever has in fall this year. It’s full of beautiful yellow leaves. We have lots of color in our yard and last week Walter showed you the Japanese maple trees. This week I’ll show some of the other trees and shrubs that are showing some lovely colors.

The Stewartia tree shows off its beautiful orange and yellow leaves.

Sometimes the leaves fall on the rocks our dad “planted” in the garden and that makes a pretty picture too.

I’ll sign off with this picture of our yard. It was just a perfect fall day and Walter and I enjoyed our time outside. I hope you enjoyed seeing our beautiful fall colors. Sadly as of the writing of this post most of the leaves are down. At least we have these beautiful pictures to look back on.
