Hi everyone it’s Walter here to tell you about some mischief our pawrents have been up to. First you have to click on this link (it will open in another tab or window) and turn your volume up but don’t forget to come back to this page.

Now back to the story. A couple of days ago we all hopped in the car but we didn’t get to go for a walk. Mom got out when we pulled into the parking lot (dad stayed with us in the air conditioning) and came back with a big box. She put the box in the back of the car and when we got home she took it out. Look what was in the box!

It's a Shark!

It’s a Shark!

I did not want to get too close to that thing at first. Mom and dad were very excited and played with it a lot. First they did a test drive on the small (5 ft. x 6 ft.) rug in the kitchen.

Look at all that crap in the canister from just one little rug!

Look at all that crap in the canister from just one little rug!

The pawrents were all giddy about how you could watch the dirt pile up in the clear canister. You know what they say about simple minds don’t you? As you can see I wasn’t very scared by this Shark really. After the first test drive they emptied the canister and then went upstairs to vacuum some more.

Can you believe they vacuumed rugs that had just been done the day before? As you can see it was worth the effort. Millie and I aren’t scared of this shark at all. It is actually pretty quiet for a vacuum.

In case your pawrents want to know the details my mom made me include this link to the Shark. They are happy they got this new vacuum because obviously the old one wasn’t working very well.

Hi everyone! It’s Mini Millie here to tell you about something that arrived a little while ago.

Mini Millie here to tell you a story

Mini Millie here to tell you a story

A couple of weeks ago we received a package from across the pond! First I gave it a good sniff.

Mini Millie - inspects mail

Then that silly boy Walter came in and decided he needed to check it out too.

What is this?

What is this?

Since neither of us has thumbs we asked mom to help open the package. Inside were two little parcels wrapped in tissue paper.

Look at the cute presents!

Look at the cute presents!

If you look closely you can see that they have labels on them. One says “Walter” and the other says “Chipmunk”! Mom assured me that what was inside wasn’t for Walter to open so she let me do the honors. Look what I found!

It's Mini Walter and Mini Chippie!

It’s Mini Walter and Mini Chippie!

OMD they are so cute! Miss Lynne from across the pond made these two mini’s for us. Mom figured that I, Mini Millie, was getting lonely and it was about time we had a Mini Walter but I didn’t expect to see that adorable Mini Chipmunk too.

Big Millie was super excited to meet Mini Chippie.

OMD he is so cute!

Next it was time for Walter to meet his mini.

The resemblance is remarkable!

Normally Lynne makes squirrels but since we have more chipmunks around here than squirrels we asked her to make ours a chipmunk and she was more than happy to do it.

She did a great job embroidering the chipmunk stripes down his back and gave him a dark colored tail. He is just too cute!

Now check out the details on Mini Walter.

Look how she made his spotty white chest and left leg.

She also did a great job capturing the black overlay he has on much of his fur with some embroidery but she did her best work on his face.

We couldn’t be happier with our two new mini’s. Dad has been thinking up some new adventures just for the mini’s to go on so stay tuned.

Thank you Lynne for doing such a great job with our new mini-me’s. If you want a mini-me of yourself just visit Lynne’s website for information on how to get your own. You won’t be disappointed.

Hi everyone it’s Millie & Walter here. As usual we are decked out in our official Christmas Card scarves for the photo shoot.

Our Wall is Full!

Our Wall is Full!

Millie & Walter

70 Snail Mail cards

16 e-cards

Total Card Count – 86

Mom & Dad

10

We ran out of room on our ribbons and had to tape some of the cards to the stone wall. Can you believe our pawrents actually got into the double digits? Their last card was from our Auntie Colleen and her family and she even put a note on the back of the envelope saying she hoped it pushed mom and dad up in the tally. As if they could ever catch us!

Saving our Stamps for Miss Lori

Saving our Stamps for Miss Lori

One of the cool things we did this year was save our stamps for Miss Lori of the What Remains Now blog. She explains in this post how the stamps are used to raise money for a Greyhound rescue in the UK so we ordered our mom to save all our stamps from all our cards. It was easy peasy! She just ripped them off the envelopes and saved them in a little zipper bag. We sent them off to Miss Lori a couple of days before Christmas and have already started saving a new set to send to her at another time. You just have to be sure the envelope doesn’t weigh more than one ounce to go in a regular envelope with just one stamp.

Just Another View of All Our Cards!

Some of our mom’s friends tried hard to bump up their card count and one of her friends even sent two cards! One to her and one to us so it just evened out. We just love getting all these cards and will be saving them to look at later in the year. Thank you to everyone that sent us a card and especially to the few of you that sent more than one!

Hi everyone it’s Walter here with another Christmas Card Count update. Dad wanted to see me in the Santa hat mom made so I put it on along with my Christmas Card scarf for the photo shoot.

Can you believe our pawrents have jumped from zero to five cards in just one week! Way to catch up mom and dad. NOT! If you look back to last weeks card count post you can see we have almost doubled the number of cards we have and are running out of room!

Keep them coming! We hope we run out of room because that would mean we are very popular and we love seeing what all our friends from Blogville send us. Some of you were asking how we attach the cards to the ribbons and if you click on the image above to make it bigger you can see that we use paperclips. Our mom has some that are plastic coated in black and white so she tries to plan it right so they don’t stand out too much.

A few people also commented on our stone wall so we thought we would give you the full view. It is made of old granite cobblestones. We also have them on the front of our house but we will show you that when the weather is nicer.

We have to apologize for not commenting on your blogs much lately. Our mom likes to do a lot of crafty things for the holidays and has been working her fingers to the bone (details in future posts). We have been visiting and keeping up with everything that is going on, but just not leaving too many comments. We promise things will get better after the holidays are over.  It was hard enough to get her to put her hooks and needles down to do this post!

Hi everyone it’s Walter here. We liked Miss Madi’s theme of Tuesday Tally so we hope she doesn’t mind if we copy her to give you an update on our Christmas Card Count. Mom made Millie and I put on our official Christmas Card scarves for the photo shoot.

Check out all the great cards we have received!

Hey why didn't you wait for me to take the picture?

Hey why didn’t you wait for me to take the picture?

Millie was upset that mom didn’t wait for her to be in the picture, but we can’t both fit in the chair. Mom wanted her to sit, but she kept lying down so it makes for a very long picture.

What is that white board for? I think it helps mom keep track of how few cards our pawrents have. A big fat ZERO! BOL!

It helps mom keep track of how few cards they have. A big fat ZERO! BOL!

Mom hates to recount the cards every day so she got out her little white board and is keeping the tally on it (you can click on the image to see it bigger). We actually got a few more cards since she took this picture in the morning.  I don’t know why she bothers to put her and dad’s names on the board since we all know they aren’t getting any cards. They are all for us!

We hope you are all kicking butt on your pawrents too in the Christmas Card count. We’ve mailed most of our cards and mom promised she will get the rest in the mail tomorrow so some of you have more coming!

Or How I Gave My Parents a Heart Attack

walter - stick looking like stogie

Hi everyone it’s Walter here. There are no pictures of this particular mischief so I will start you off with this cute picture of me. Mom says it looks like I have a cigar in my mouth, but it is really just a stick.

On Saturday a local garden center had a fun event they called the “Dog Days of Summer” and mom and dad thought it would be good to take Millie and I there. I love going for rides in the car and really enjoy meeting new people and pups. There were lots of different vendors there and some rescue groups that had adoptable dogs too.

When we pulled into the parking lot I could see some of the pups up for adoption and was very excited. Mom parked the car and then, as usual she clipped on her treat bag and grabbed the leash. Mom usually handles me and dad handles Millie. We usually wait patiently in the back seat while the leashes are clipped on and we are ready to go.

This time I was a little too excited and I don’t think either mom or dad noticed just how excited I was to be there. When mom opened her door to get out of the car I shot through the gap in the front seats and was out the door before anyone knew what happened. I ran straight over to some of the pups that were hanging out with one of the adoption groups with mom running and screaming my name close behind. This very cute human pup who also had a puppy on a leash grabbed my harness and held on tight until mom caught up with me.

Just another picture of me looking cute

Boy was that ever fun to go run and play with those other pups. I don’t understand why mom called me a knucklehead but I suppose I should be glad that was all she said. After mom’s heart rate returned to normal we enjoyed walking around the garden center. There were lots of nice people at the booths and Millie and I scored a bunch of treats.

Mom had the last laugh though. One of the booths was a groomer who was doing nail trims for just $5 each so Millie and I each had a quick pedicure. The ladies that were doing it were very nice with one doing the clipping and one giving me lots of loving while I was on the table. I think I over heard mom and dad talking about maybe making a regular appointment with them for our nails. That would be no problem with me because I thought those ladies were very nice.  All in all it was a fun time and we were there for about an hour. I can’t wait to go to our next event and see what excitement I can cook up for that one.

Note from mom: Walter sure gave us a scare, but luckily he just ran up to the first human and dog he saw and was quickly captured. We never expected him to bolt out the front, but will be modifying our car routine to make sure we never have a repeat performance.

Millie goes vintage

Charlie has been working with some new image processing software, Nik Collection. Here he used one of the pre-sets in the Silver Efex Pro 2 software to give Millie that vintage look.

We are participating in the Black & White Sunday blog hop.
