Hi everyone! It’s Millie here. There isn’t much nature to show in our yard right now but we found a few things.
There is only one thing in bloom around here right now and that is the witch hazel shrubs.
There are some flowers that aren’t blooming but still putting on a show.
We had some high winds today so there are lots more sticks on the ground to chew. I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the nature we have around our yard. We are starting to see some leaves popping out of the ground but it will be weeks before we see any more flowers.
We are joining the LLB Gang for their Nature Friday Blog Hop. You should pop over to their blog to see all the other posts.
Our witch hazel is looking nice to along with the dogwoods and redbuds. Mom enjoyed seeing their blooms when she went to see the Grandparents.
That witch hazel looks pretty and interesting!
There are plenty of sticks laying about here too…and I, Benji like to take some inside, BOL!
Your witch hazels are so pretty!

I too am loving the witch hazel blooms. I have to say, though, that is not like any HYDRANGEA I’ve ever seen… could it be Lilac, maybe???
chewing sticks strikes me as being a very good destressor – perhaps a few hyoomans could take this up to deal with the incarceration under way!!! Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
These hydrangea are called hydrangea paniculata https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrangea_paniculata and have that shape flower much like a lilac.
Hari OM – ooooh look at that! What a beauty. Had not come across this one – thanks for updating my ken &*> Yxx
Sticks to chew on are an under-rated part of nature!
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
Dang, we didn’t know you could grow a witch, spooky cool. Tell Hazel we sent a howdy and enjoy those sticks!
That is more blooms then here!
I never knew what witch hazel looked like. There’s tons of stuff blooming in our neighborhood, and my eyes and nose runs every time I take a walk. Someone looks at all this liquid coming out of me and all I have to say is, “Allergies.”
Ahhhhhh, chewing sticks. Such Fun!
Rosy always like to go out in the yard after a wind storm and chew on sticks too!! What beautiful witch hazel!
xoxo,
Rosy, Jakey & Arty
Timber is finding lots of sticks too. But other than some green grass, there isn’t much by way of Spring here yet. We can’t wait to see all the beauty your yard always has. It is just spectacular.
Woos, Lightning and Timber
Millie you found some hidden treasures today Yellow and Red Witch Hazel..
Well done my sweet black beauty
