Hi everyone. It’s Millie and Walter here. We’ve been enjoying playing in our snowy yard. One of the things we like doing is hopping up on the stump of the big ash tree that was removed from our yard this summer.

You can really do some regal looking poses on the stump.

It’s also a great place to look out over the yard.

Of course sometimes we both get up there and, well…

It’s Wrestle Mania Time!

Don’t worry. We take turns with each other’s scruff in our mouths. This time Millie happened to have the upper paw.

We’re joining The Cat on My Head for their Selfie Sunday blog hop.

You should check out the hop to see some of the other selfies. Thanks for stopping by.

Hi everyone! It’s Millie & Walter here. Well you might be wondering how Walter’s surgery went yesterday. The truth is it didn’t happen.

This butterfly has quite a lot of snow on her back

On Monday the weather peeps were telling us that we were getting a big storm on Tuesday that would make travel difficult to the vet (remember it is a 1 ½ hour drive from our house). Our mom made the decision to cancel the appointment for safety sake. It has been rescheduled for Wednesday, November 27th.

Instead of having surgery I got to do lots of playing in the snow

Dad made lots of snowballs for us to retrieve

We had about 15+ inches of snow in the past couple of days (this broke records for snow fall amount and low temperatures). It was light and fluffy but packed well for snowballs.

I still have all my teeth.
Don’t you dare chomp them on me.

I love sticking my head in the snow

We sure had a great time playing in the snow

The snow won’t last for long as the temps are supposed to get above freezing during the next week.

We’re sorry we haven’t been around much this past week. Our mom had family visiting and got a little behind in commenting on our friends blogs but she promised to get caught up soon.

Hi everyone. It’s Millie here. As you might remember last Friday we were waiting for Winter Storm Harper to hit our area and boy did it ever!

I wonder what is hiding under the snow.

The snow started around mid day on Saturday and didn’t stop until this afternoon! The first 24 hours were from the storm and the last 24 hours were from lake effect. My mom estimates that we got around 24 to 30 inches (61 to 76 cm).

I like going off trail!

It was quite windy so there are some areas that are up to our mom’s thigh. Of course she is only 5’2″ tall but that is still deep.

I think I hit a dead end.

Walter and I haven’t been able to play in the snow much because the other factor to this storm has been the cold temps we’ve been having. Our high temps haven’t gotten over 15° F (-10° C) with wind chills below zero and late at night or early morning it’s been in the single digits.

That snow is deep and it’s cold out here!

Here is a little action video of us today. Don’t be fooled by the brief amount of sunshine you see. It only lasted for a few seconds and it was snowing right through it (that’s the fun of lake effect snow).

If you can’t see the video you can go here to view it.

On those really cold mornings our mom puts booties on us so we can be out long enough to get all our “business” taken care of without hurting our paws. You should see how many layers of clothes our mom has to wear. BOL!

We were getting spoiled with a fairly warm and snow free winter for the past month but Mother Nature is making up for lost time.

No birds are bathing here.

Some of this snow should disappear in a few days as the forecast for Wednesday calls for temperatures in the low 40’s F (5°C) and some rain.

Well I just wanted to let you know that we survived the storm and can’t wait for the temps to warm up a little so we can get out and have fun in the snow. Stay warm friends.

Hi everyone! It’s Millie & Walter here. We’re sure most of you have heard about the storm moving across the country. According to our weather peeps we will probably see almost 2 feet of snow and wind chills below zero degrees Fahrenheit by then end of this weekend.

I can’t wait to romp in deeper snow.

This snow isn’t very deep. My nose can easily reach the grass.

We’ve had a few inches of snow on the ground for a while now and the temps haven’t been too cold either.

Wrestling is fun in any amount of snow.

It’s always fun to wrestle no matter how much snow there is but it’s always better with some deep powder to cushion your fall.

If I were laying here on Sunday I would be up to my ears in snow!

Our pawrents aren’t too happy about all the snow that is coming. We have someone to plow the snow off our driveway but our pawrents still have to keep the front walk and back patio shoveled.

Don’t worry mom. I’ll plow a path for you in the back yard.

Luckily we don’t have anything planned that we have to drive to so we think there will be lots of binge watching all together in the big bed.

We hope all our friends in the path of this storm stay safe.

So far this winter has been pretty mild and our snow fall has been a little below average. We guess Mother Nature wants to make up for lost time this weekend.

I think I see the storm clouds coming.

This will be a different view in a few days.

We’ve noticed increased activity with the birds and other wildlife around our house. Maybe they can tell the weather is going to get bad and are filling up before everything gets covered in snow.

Hi everyone! It’s Walter here! It’s time for our second November Chewy.com review. For our second review my mom picked out a toy just for me. Millie isn’t into playing with toys much.

There are two things in this box!

Here is the Frisco Plush with Rubber Tug & Fetch No Squeak Football Dog Toy. It comes in two colors.

We chose red. The other color is blue.

According to Chewy.com:

“Energetic pups have met their match with the Frisco Plush with Rubber Tug & Fetch No Squeak Football Dog Toy. It’s made with a tough fabric exterior and durable thermoplastic rubber for added strength, so it can hold up to some pretty tough tumbling during supervised play. Toss it or tug it—the football shape is perfect for playing tug-o-war and it has a built-in handle that makes it easy to throw for fetch. Plus, there are no squeakers so no matter how rambunctious your pooch gets while playing, there’s no extra noise! It’s the perfect toy to give your dog the daily exercise and stimulation he needs to stay healthy.”

Some of the key benefits of this toy are:

  • Designed for energetic dogs that need stronger toys, with sturdy fabric and durable thermoplastic rubber for added sturdiness.
  • Squeaker-less design lets you have all the playtime fun with none of the noise.
  • Football shape is perfect for tossing and grabbing for fetch and tug-o-war.
  • Toss it farther—swing the built-in handle to sling the toy even further for even more fun and exercise.
  • Hassle-free way to add in daily exercise and mental stimulation to help keep your dog healthy.

I can’t wait to play with this toy!
Hey Walter you should see what’s going on outside.

Check out the video to see how much I enjoyed this toy.

If you can’t see the video you can go here to view it.

After playing with this toy in the house we went outside.

It’s easy to get my mouth around it

Mom won’t let me chew on the handle

Fetching this toy is lots of fun

I need a little break after all that play

As you can see I loved this toy and give it 4 paws up (because that is all the paws I have) and I recommend it to all my friends. If you are looking for a new toy for your list for Santa Paws I highly recommend this one.

Please remember that every dog plays differently and, since not all toys are created equal, it’s always best to keep a close watch on your pup in case things get ruff. Supervised play will help toys last longer and most importantly keep your pal safe. No dog toy is truly indestructible, so always remove the toy from playtime if pieces begin to break off.

So far this one is holding up well. My dad brought it out to play with me the day Millie had her surgery and we had lots of fun together.

Millie wants to thank all of you for all the good wishes about her tooth extraction. Everything went well and she is recovering fine.

Hi everyone! It’s Walter here. Do you have jobs around your house that you do to help out your pawrents? Well I do and it is so much fun.

Every day when the mail comes I wait for my pawrents to sort through it.

Then they hand me the junk mail and I take care  of it for them.

This junk mail is a bit gamy.

Here is a little video of how I help.

If you can’t see the video you can go to view it.

Sometimes I help by making big envelopes into a jigsaw puzzle. I’m really good at just ripping things apart and not eating any of it. The fun part is in the end my pawrents have to clean up all the mess. I would love to hear about the jobs you do to help your pawrents around the house.

Hi everyone! It’s Walter here. Remember a couple of posts ago when my mom told you about using a valve from an inflatable ball in the doll she made? Well I wanted to show you how I helped her get that valve out of the ball.

I had a little help from my dad because he blew the ball up for me.

Then I took the ball to our living room and gave it a good sniff.

I had fun shaking it and tossing it around a bit.

Don’t mind the mess behind me in front of that chair. That is the remnants from the packing pillows that came in the box with these toy balls. I had to destroy them first.

I had a great time showing that ball who was boss. If you want to see all the action you can check out my video.

If you can’t see the video you can go here to view it.

My mom made sure I didn’t tear up the ball too much and ruin the valve she needed. It’s always lots of fun helping my pawrents out with any shredding they need. Do you help your pawrents out like that too?
