Hi everyone, it’s Millie & Walter here! It’s time for this month’s Chewy.com review. Wow! Can you believe that we have posted 3 days in a row? Don’t get used to it. We’re sure it’s just a fluke.

What did you get for us this month mom?

What did you get for us this month mom?

Of course the first thing you have to do is get the treats out of the envelope they came in. As you know Walter enjoys opening the envelope almost more than getting to taste the treats.

Let's get this party started!

Let’s get this party started!

Here is a video of all that action.

If you can’t see the video you can go here to see it.

Now that Walter got the treat bag out of the envelope we can see that we are reviewing Merrick Backcountry Great Plains Real Beef Sausage Cuts Dog Treats.

This is torture mom!

When do I ever listen to commands?

We eat Merrick food every day so we know they make good stuff. Of course we had to humor our mom and pose with the bag.

We chose the Great Plains Real Beef flavor but there are a few other flavors to choose from. These treats are grain free and made in the USA which we know is important to many of us.

The treats are soft and chewy and easily break into smaller pieces. We know our pawrents love to make our treats smaller to make us think we are getting more to eat but we know the truth.

You better get that picture mom because I won't wait very long.

Please say "Okay"! Please say "Okay"!

Please say “Okay”! Please say “Okay”!

We loved these treats!

Please mom can I have another?

These treats are great!

Om nom nom nom!

There is no question this is an 8 paws up (because that is all the paws we have) great treat and we recommend them to all our friends.

FlowerFridayBlogHop 2016

Hi everyone! Today we are joining Dory for her Flower Friday Blog Hop. We haven’t had much to show you yet but a few of these pictures were taken in late March when we had a bit of a warm spell.

First up are our witch hazel. These smell so nice and the bees just love them.

Next up is our Cornelian Cherry Dogwood. The flowers were just starting to open at this point. On warm days when the buds are fully open this small tree is just full of all sorts of bees and wasps.

We have one shrub that is blooming right now.

Next up is the only flower we have blooming. We’ve had such cold nights that it was kind of drooping and I had to practically lay on my stomach to get this picture.

daffodil - small with orange center

We do have a few other daffodils that are just about to bloom.

yellow daffodils - almost in bloom

The perennial garden is starting to grow but we are a few weeks away from any flowers here unless we get a warm period.

The only thing left to show you are some buds on our flowering shrubs.

We can’t wait for the last two viburnum to open because these too have such a fantastic fragrance. We have so many of these shrubs that when the wind is coming from the right direction the entire yard smells divine.

Well that is all we have to share for Flower Friday. Be sure to pop over to Dory’s Blog to see who else is participating.

Hi everyone! It’s me Walter.

Walter - Head shot

I can hardly believe that it is my third Gotcha Day today! I had a rough start in life with my brother but thanks to Big Dogs Big Hearts rescue and my foster pawrents Lindsay and Jon I was lucky to find a great forever home.

Pups like Millie & I, who were taken in by rescues, know how special our foster pawrents can be to us. Millie gets to see her foster pawrents when we go visit our rescue at their meet and greets but I hadn’t seen mine since the day I was adopted. Well a few months ago I finally got to see my foster mom Lindsay and boy was it a great reunion.

It all started because mom invited her Crochet and Knit group “Purl Jam” to our house for a holiday celebration just before Christmas. Foster mom Lindsay is a member of the group and mom sent her a special message hoping she could join us. Mom didn’t tell me she was coming so when I heard her voice outside when mom went to greet her I got very excited. We don’t have any photographic evidence of my greeting Lindsay but I just started jumping up and down (kind of like the dog in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZpOghdjZaA) and mom and dad worried that I wasn’t going to stop.

Eventually all the other ladies showed up and after having some snacks they went into the family room to work on their projects.

I was so happy to see Foster Mom Lindsay

Millie behaved herself and mostly laid in the middle of the floor but I just couldn’t get enough of Foster Mom Lindsay.

In between giving Foster Mom Lindsay lots of attention I did take some time to hang out with the other guests.

Everyone working on their projects

But I couldn’t stay away for long.

You don't mind if I sit here do you Foster Mom Lindsay?

Needless to say she didn’t get as much done on her project as some of the other ladies did. I think the look on her face says she doesn’t really mind at all.

Eventually I just couldn't keep my eyes open any longer

As you can see I settled down next to Lindsay in her chair and took a little nap.

I love my family but us rescue dogs all know how special our foster pawrents are to us too. If it weren’t for them opening their homes, we might not be in our great forever homes. Thanks Foster Mom Lindsay and Foster Dad Jon for giving me a place to hang out and learn what a loving home could be like while I waited to find my forever home. You made my Gotcha Day possible.

Before I go I have to give a little shout out to another guy celebrating his Gotcha Day too. Happy Gotcha Day Frankie Furter! We sure are a couple of lucky guys.

Hi everyone! It’s Millie and Walter here. We don’t know about all of you but we have some routines that we like to stick to almost every day. After everyone has had their dinners we love to do a little wrestling in the living room. Well one day it kind of spilled over into the family room.

First we want to show you what our family room normally looks like.

Family Room furniture in normal position

View of the family room from the living room door

Take particular notice of the location of the ottoman (with the tray on it). Now watch what happened when our living room wrestling spilled into the family room.

If you can’t see the video you can go here to view it.

There is more room for wrestling now that the ottoman is out of the way

Please ignore the dust flying in front of the camera and our crazy eyes. Mom was using her phone since it was the closest thing to her at the time.

Sorry about making all that noise while you were trying to watch your show dad. Usually we just run around the ottoman and then back into the living room but this time we just shoved it out of our way and had a great time.

Do any of you ever rearrange the furniture while you are playing?

Hi everyone it’s Cindy here. I know I’m a little late but today I’m joining the Hookin on Hump Day blog hop to show you one of my latest crochet creations. Recently I showed you Kenny from South Park. Well it’s time to introduce you to a new resident to my Mini collection.

Hi! It's nice to finally meet all of you.

Hi! It’s nice to finally meet all of you.

That’s right, it’s Kyle Broflovski from South Park Colorado. Once again I used a pattern I purchased from Etsy (Aradiya Toys – the same place I got the other South Park patterns from) and I used same Lizbeth size 3 cotton thread that I used to make the previous boys.

This time I finally remembered to take a picture before I put all the pieces together.
All the pieces ready to assemble

All the pieces ready to assemble

I had already sewn the dark green piece to the hat (on the right in the above picture) when I took this picture but it gives you an idea of the pieces involved. I still had to sew on the ear flaps to complete the hat. The head and body are crocheted as one piece. Then you sew the arms on. Lastly to complete it you use embroidery floss to add the details. I carefully spray a little 505 spray adhesive on the backs of the felt eye pieces to stick them to the head before embroidering the eyes with a little bit of black floss.

What took you so long to get her Kyle? I don't know. Ask Cindy.

What took you so long to get her Kyle?
I don’t know Cartman. Ask Cindy.

The most difficult part on Kyle was embroidering the pocket details on him. I actually had it completely done once and ripped it out because the pockets looked more like parallelograms than rectangles. The thread I use to crochet these figures is fairly stiff which makes embroidering on them more difficult than it would be if I was using yarn.

All the Mini's together

I’m very happy with how Kyle turned out. Next up on my amigurumi hook is Butters Stotch my favorite of all the South Park characters so stay tuned.

If you are interested in seeing more crochet creations please visit the Hookin on Hump Day blog hop.

April Snow - lr

This is a picture taken through a window at our backyard late yesterday afternoon. As you can see Mother Nature is full of mischief. It snowed overnight and yesterday afternoon it started snowing again. By the end of the day on Monday we are supposed to have about 8 more inches of snow! I thought it was spring?!

We have some daffodils that were just forming buds and now I’m afraid the cold is going to do them in. It’s in the 20’s (about -7 C) tonight and might dip into the teens tomorrow night. We may have to hold out another week before we can participate in Dory’s Flower Friday’s.
