Walter & Tuiren – ready for the party

I’m taking my girl Tuiren. Don’t we look great in our matching scarves? Millie let Tui borrow it so we could wear coordinated outfits. Speaking of borrowing things…

Walter let Easy, Millie’s date, borrow his hat and sweater to help him stay warm. Don’t we make a cute couple? You should see the great ride Easy stopped by with to pick me up.

That’s right readers, today we, Millie & Walter, have transformed into a couple of Sumo wrestlers.

Millie Walter - Wrestling still 1

We like to use the bed in the morning when mom and dad are trying to make it for our wrestling mat. As you will see in this video one of us has achieved the rank of Yokozuna while the other is a lower ranked Sekitori.

If you can’t see the video or want a larger view you can go here to watch the video.

As usual Millie triumphs over Walter but he does have his moments.

We hope you enjoyed watching our fun video.

Hi everyone it’s Millie & Walter here. We have lots to tell you about our dates today but first we want to let you know that Millie is back to her old self. I, Millie, really was only out of sorts for about a day. After that I forgot all about that dumb stick up my nose. Thanks to everyone for all the thoughts and prayers.

DateDay3

Now on to our dates. Even before Tommy asked Millie to be his date Walter was already thinking of taking Tui on a romantic date to Paris. Tommy said he wouldn’t mind making it a double date and serving as our guide and interpreter too. We picked up Tui and dashed across the big pond in our private jet. Tommy met us at the airport and we were off to the big city.

First stop the Eiffel Tower

Hey Millie, I’ll race you to the top of the Eiffel Tower.
See you at the top Tommy!

We went all the way to the top to enjoy the view and see where we were going next.

Enjoying a leisurely walk along the river Seine.

We’re getting hungry. Can we stop to eat?
Oh Walter you are always hungry.

Next up was a beautiful walk along the river Seine. There are so many bridges to walk under and beautiful buildings to see. Along the way we stopped for a bite to eat at one of the cute cafés. After a while we crossed over one of the bridges to head to our next destination.

Posing at the Louvre

Hey Tommy do you think it’d be okay to leave some pee mail on this statue?
No Walter. In France we are more dignified than that.

We enjoyed some time touring the grounds and even went inside to look at all the beautiful art work too. There was so much to see there. After this visit Walter wanted to take Tui to visit the Pont des Art bridge.

Walter and Tui put a "love lock" on the bridge.

I put your name on that purple lock Tui.
Oh Walter that is so romantic!

This is one of the “love lock” bridges in Paris. For those of you who know what that is, here’s the story. A couple writes their names on a padlock and locks it onto the bridges. They then throw the key into the Seine River as a symbol of their undying love. I hope you don’t think I’m being too forward Tui?

To finish the day we all boarded a barge for a dinner cruise on the Seine.

Thanks for a great day in Paris Tommy. My pleasure Millie. I hope you come back to visit me someday.

Thanks for a great day in Paris Tommy.
My pleasure Millie. I hope you come back to visit me someday.

We all had an amazing day and were sad to have to say goodbye to Tommy. We also got to meet his mother who he calls #1. She was very nice and invited us to her home for another time. We would love to meet the rest of Tommy’s family.

We hopped on our jet and made our way back to Tui’s home before it was past her curfew. Mom and dad were happy to see us and hear all about our big date in Paris too. We were exhausted and told them they will have to wait until tomorrow because all we wanted to do was sleep.

Thanks to Sarge for hosting Date Day. We all had a great time. Make sure if you posted about your date to leave a comment for Sarge to be entered in his contest.

Hi everyone, it’s Walter here! For most of the summer mom and I went to training class at a local recreation center. It was lots of fun and I got to make some new friends. At first I was a bit nervous since I had never gone anywhere with just mom, but the trainer and my class mates were so nice I forgot all about Millie and dad not being with us.

Mom didn’t take any pictures during our 7 weeks at class. Something about needing to concentrate on training me and not worry about pictures. Each class session we were allowed some play time and boy did we have fun. Our last class was a real blast. Unfortunately one of our class mates didn’t make it,but the rest of us sure had fun.

Walter - graduation day - playtime action

We were moving so fast (and mom didn’t want to use the flash) that we were a bit blurry. That cute pup with me is Miss Gracie. She is a mini doodle just like Murphy & Stanley. I really loved her dad since he always had the best turkey and cheese you have ever tasted.

As a going away present and thank you to the teacher my mom made everyone a squeaky bone with their name on it. These are the medium sized ones from my mom’s Etsy shop. Of course the one in the middle is for the teacher and the bottom one was for Toby who wasn’t at our last class (Miss Fran, the teacher, said she would get the bone to Toby for us).

Cute little Gracie loved her bone and her mom assured us that she would get lots of play time with it.

I think Miss Gracie was jealous of me getting hugs from our teacher (notice the raspberry). We had a lot of fun running around and playing at the end of class. Here is a little video of all the action.

If you can’t see the video you can go here to view it.

The little pup in the video is Desi our teachers demo dog. He came to class with her a couple of times and showed us how to do some of the things we needed to learn. He was a good teacher too.

All in all I had a good time and even learned a few things from Fran at Pawsitive Behavior Dog Training. Mom and dad say I still have some things to learn, but I don’t know if I will be going back any time soon for another training class or just learn on my own with my parents and Millie helping me. Either way I still have lots of learning to do.

Hi everyone, we sure are loving having Walter in our home. I think Millie is especially happy to have a brother to play with whenever the mood hits her/them.

Here are a couple of videos from Walters’ first two days here. I can’t count how many hours I have refereed these sessions and I’m sure there will be countless hours more in the years to come.

Here is a little wrestling action first.

If you can’t see the video you can go here to view it.

Next I will show you a great game of tug of war. The noise you hear is Millie’s vocalizations. Her foster parents are very familiar with this sound and we have all concluded that it is not an aggressive sound, but rather just what she does when she is having fun playing. Walter does some vocalizing too, but most of it is Millie.

If you can’t see the video you can go here to view it.

Just so you don’t think they are going all the time, Walter has proven himself already to be a good sleeper and will even settle down for an afternoon nap. The action can be tiring to all of us at times, and they need to be supervised, especially when in the living room where these videos were shot so they don’t knock over Charlie’s speakers or the pole lamp in the room, but I sure enjoy watching it. Having had just one dog, Nina, for over a decade I missed seeing all the fun action between canine siblings. There will be no shortage of that around here now.

Hi everyone, it’s Millie here. You know, being a young pup my mom and dad have been working on making sure I have proper manners at home and in public with people and other pups. My friend Remy and her mom are working on the same things so we have been trying to get together at least once a week.

Remy and I were supposed to have another walking date on New Year’s day, but the weather was real snowy in the morning and our parents were worried that the sidewalks would be too slippery. With so much snow on the ground we decided to meet at my house and just have a play date instead.

There isn’t much photographic evidence of all the fun we had, but here is a quick video of some of the action. Don’t blink or you might miss it. We are that fast!

If you can’t see the video you can go here to view it.

After a while Remy got a bit cold so we all went inside and gave Remy and her mom a tour of our house. I was a very good hostess and enjoyed showing my house to Remy. Of course we both stayed on leash as our parents didn’t want us zooming and wrestling in the house just yet. The parents talked for a while and Remy and I had a chance to relax.

Last week Remy and I had a date to meet at the Village Gate for some indoor training. It is a cool place that has restaurants, businesses and loft apartments and is dog friendly. There is also a lot of interesting art work scattered throughout the inside and outside.

Village Gate - artwork

Imagine our surprise when we walked up to Debra and she had her other dog Allie with her instead of Remy! How cool! Now I got to meet Remy’s big sister. She was such a sweet and happy girl and we got along real well. We also met up with another friend Debbie and her dog Happy.

Village Gate - water break - Millie

Happy is the big boy on the left and Allie is in the middle of this picture with her mom. She looks a lot like her sister, but is a lighter color.

It was kind of fun walking around and seeing all the people in the offices pointing at us. I’m sure they thought we were all so cute and well-behaved.

Village Gate - phone sculpture

We spent most of our time on the second floor where there is a lot of open space with some hallways to explore too.

Village Gate - walking down the hall - Millie

Someday maybe I will try going up those spiral stairs to see what is up there. There were some other stairs that Happy thought were scary, but I ran up and down them with no problem. For such a big boy he was a bit of a wuss.

Village Gate - open space

After a while we were all getting a bit thirsty and tired. Unfortunately we couldn’t drink from the fountain because people throw pennies in there and it might make us sick.

All in all we had a great time and were pretty tired by the time we finished. I can’t wait to get together with Debra and either of her pups again and Debbie and Happy too.

Hi everyone it’s Millie here. First before I tell you about my day at play mommy wants me to clear up any confusion over yesterday’s post. You don’t have to worry about the pigeons finding enough to eat because crazy people come and throw stale bread for them all the time (this isn’t really good for them). The other thing is that the picture was taken from the safety of the parking lot where this boat launch hut is located on Irondequoit Bay so neither of my parents risked their lives for a cool shot. They would never do that sort of thing because that is what a long camera lens is for. There is plenty of ice fishing on the bay during the winter, but that is for the crazy people (my mommy told me to say that).

Okay now on to the real reason for my post today! My new friend Remy invited me to come to her play group that meets on Saturday afternoons so mommy and daddy took me there this past weekend. The play group meets at Tails of Success in Rochester, New York.

play group 2

There were lots of dogs and their parents there and at first it was a bit crazy. After a while we all took a short break and things settled down a bit.

play group 3

All the dogs got along pretty well and the people were really nice too.

getting scritches

I especially liked this nice man who was very good at giving scritches. You will see in the video that I wasn’t the only one to enjoy his loving.

Mom created a video of some of the fun I had. Remy and I had a nice wrestling session toward the end. It was a lot of fun and I hope to go back again soon.

If you can’t see the video you can go here to view it.

By the way Remy and I have another walk scheduled for New Year’s Day. I can’t think of a better way to ring in the New Year than by taking a walk with my new friend!
