Hi everyone! It’s Millie here. A few weeks ago, my mom bought something special for me. Well, it’s really for Walter too but he almost never uses it. My mom wasn’t sure what size would be right for us, but when our friends at The Chronicle of Woos did a post about theirs she knew the size they had would fit me and boy does it ever!

Snug as a bug in my Donut Cuddler Dog Bed.

This is my favorite corner to hang out in. We used to have an extra padded quilt that our mom made (you can see it in the links above) for our Angel Sister Nina, but it was getting a bit worse for wear, and she thought that in my later years I could use something with more cushion for my old bones. Since she had a $30 gift card to use at Chewy it was a great bargain! Officially it’s the Best Friends by Sheri The Original Calming Shag Fur Donut Cuddler Cat & Dog Bed size Large. I don’t really think any cat is using a bed this size unless it’s for a cheetah at a zoo! BOL!

The perfect sun puddle snoozing spot.

You might be wondering why there is a blankie on the bed and why am I not just laying directly in the bed. Well, for the first couple of days I would only go over to it and sniff at it, but I wouldn’t lay down in it. We have lots of these dog blankies (it’s really an old comforter that my mom cut into smaller pieces for us) and we lay on them all the time on the big bed. Once my mom put one on this new bed I was in! It’s a good thing we are using the blankie on top of the cuddler bed because Walter decided he needed to mark the bed (Boys!!!), but he only hit the blankie and it’s a lot easier to wash then the bed (although you can see in the Woos link its very washable too).

Hi everyone! It’s Millie and Walter here. A few weeks ago, our mom finally took down our Christmas decorations, but before she took them down, we did our yearly photo shoot with all the cards we received.

Look at all the Christmas cards we received.

If you click on the image you might be able to find the card you sent us, even the emailed ones since our mom prints those out too!

Aren’t we sitting pretty?
Some treats might have been involved.

We love sending and receiving cards every holiday season and just want to thank everyone that sends us one. Some of our friends even sent an email and snail mail one.

Thanks to all our friends and family for sending us so many cards.

P.S. For those of you who are wondering the afghan on the chair is one of our mom’s latest creations. She finished it this past summer. It’s done in interlocking mosaic crochet and is Astrid’s Christmas Tangle blanket by Astrid Schandy.

Hi everyone! It’s Walter here. We’ve had some nice weather this week so there has been plenty of play time outside. When we’re done you can usually find me napping on my mom’s pillow in the big bed.

I’m tired.

It doesn’t take much to tire us out these days, but we love to spend time outside. Our dad usually throws small treats around for us to “Go Find”. That is the name of the game. We can see Fall on the horizon but not before a few more hot days ahead this week (although nothing like the triple digit heat some of you are experiencing). We have our paws crossed for all our friends in the path of Hurricane Hilary too.

Hi everyone! It’s Millie here. The weather was super hot last week so we did a lot of hanging out in the AC cooled house. That gave our dad plenty of opportunities to photograph us. Luckily, we had a very rainy day yesterday and it has brought cooler weather with it.

I wish it were cool enough to play outside.

It looks like we should get more play time outside this week if the rain stays away.

Hi everyone! It’s Millie here. Before I get to my selfie Walter wanted me to thank everyone for all the POTP you sent his way. Thankfully (for my butt that kept getting rammed), the cone came off early last week and he is doing very well. I’m glad that I can now nap without having to worry if I’ll get clocked in the head by that nasty cone.

I love a peaceful nap in the sunshine.

I hope you all have time for a nice quiet Sunday afternoon nap, too.

Hi everyone! It’s Walter here. My tale of woe started on Thursday morning when mom took me straight outside to do my business when we woke up and then stuffed me in the car without getting any breakfast! She whisked me off to the vets and left me there! Later they made me very sleepy, and I woke up with the cone of shame on my head!

Walter and cone 7-15-23-3 - lr

The cone of shame!

Don’t worry, I had a small lump taken off my left eye using cryosurgery so there are no sutures. I had a small growth and then a bigger bump that the vet thought was just clogged up from a blocked tear duct. She was sure that after taking off the little lump the bigger bulge would drain away and be gone, but that isn’t what happened. The bigger bump is still there although it is a bit smaller. We aren’t sure if the bigger lump will go away or not…only time will tell.

I’m blowing a raspberry for having to wear this silly cone.

I’ve done much better than mom and dad expected with wearing the dreaded cone. Originally, they had purchased a “Comfy Cone” and had been training me to accept wearing it. Since the vet put the plastic one on me and I was doing well with it they decided to just use that one. I like it better because I can see through the plastic, so my vision isn’t blocked like with the “Comfy Cone”. It took me a while to figure out how to drink water by myself and so far, my parents have been holding my food bowl for the few seconds it takes me to eat my meals. I’ve even been doing well with not smacking my parents in the head with it at night when we are all sleeping. Millie on the other had doesn’t like it much when I ram her behind with it like I’m trying to herd her. BOL!

Today I’ve even gotten some time off without the cone, but I hear I will be wearing it at night when we are all sleeping for a couple more days.

Hi everyone! It’s Walter here. Every once in a while, when everyone else is downstairs, I like to sneak upstairs and make the big bed to my liking. Here are two examples.

Isn’t this a nice nest I’ve made for myself?

About a week later this is what I did.

I love laying on the cool sheets.

Mom and dad always know that there will be some sort of re-arrangement made to the bed when I go upstairs alone. I just want to save them the step of turning down the bed. BOL!

Hi everyone! It’s Millie and Walter here. Sorry we haven’t been here much but, to be honest, life has been a bit boring lately. Even though our weather has been very dry for the past few weeks we still have a lot of mosquitoes in our yard. On sunny days, our dad makes up a stuffed Kong for both of us to enjoy while he putters in the garden.

The deep grass helps keep the Kong from moving.

I prefer to use my paw as a backstop.

We’re supposed to get some much-needed rain tomorrow but then some nice weather for the rest of the week. Hopefully, our dad will need to do some more work in the garden so we can get another stuffed Kong, or two.
